FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS OF THE CITY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

Buying your tickets in advance means that you can be sure of entering the complex and will allow you to access directly through the turnstile in the Sciences Museum, Hemisfèric and OceanogràficYou can purchase your ticktes here.

However, if you prefer, you can buy your tickets directly from the booths. In high season, at weekends and on public holidays, we suggest that you pre-book, especially for the Hemisfèric, which has limited capacity.

 

You can pay for your purchase using any of the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Bizum, transfer, cash and cultural bonus.

 

The following discounts are available on-line: children aged between 4 to 12 years old, visitors over 65s and / or retired and pensionists. It will be required to show the supporting document at the ticketing desk to obtain the discount. The rest of discounts and promotions will only be considered at the time of buying the tickets at the desks.

The ticket gives access to one session only.

The cancellation or refund of the purchased tickets is not possible. The date of the ticket can be modified if communicated prior to the visit date (maximum of two changes and within a maximum period of one year from the initial visit date, paying the fare difference if necessary).

 

To visit the Museum may take an average of 3 hours and the Oceanogràfic approximately 4 hours, depending on your level of interest and motivation. Sessions at the Hemisferic generally last about 45 – 50 minutes. The visit to the entire complex can be done in a single day, but to enjoy a more relaxed visit we suggest to take two or three days.

On December 25th, the Museu de les Ciències and the Hemisfèric close, and the Oceanogràfic has a special schedule.

Yes, the Museum and the Oceanogràfic both open to the public at 10:00 and you can then visit at any time you like.

 

Visitors to the Museum may leave and return the same day, but must keep their entrance ticket. In the case of the Oceanográfic, leaving and returning is permitted in the following cases: with a combined ticket for the Oceanogràfic and another facility on the same day, in the case of a school group and during the peak season.

On weekends and holidays, check with the call centre and retail outlets. To re-enter, ask for your entry bracelet at the information centre before leaving.

The language can be selected in the earphones distributed at the entrance to the auditorium.

You can choose between Spanish, Valencian and English; French and Italian, it depends on the film.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult responsible for their safety.

We hold several dolphin exhibition sessions a day. However, their times are subject to change due to large number of people or weather conditions.

For this reason, we prefer that visitors ask at the Information Desk in the Entrance Building on the day of their visit, in order to avoid any confusion.

 

No, we do not currently have anywhere to look after your pets and animals are not permitted to enter the complex.

The only exception to this are registered guide dogs as stipulated by Valencian by-law 12/2003, 10th April.

At the entrance building to the Oceanogràfic, next to the information point, we have a left-luggage service where you can leave your luggage or other belongings. It costs 2€ per day and no pre-booking is required. In the Museu de les Ciències we have a free cloakroom service on the first floor as long as the luggage is small. The lockers have the following measures: 36 cm high x 40 cm wide x 50 cm deep and 72 cm high x 40 cm wide x 50 cm deep

 

Eating or drinking in the City of Arts and Sciences facilities is not permitted, except for in designated areas. However, during your visit, you are free to leave and return whenever you like, as long as you retain your ticket in the case of the Museum. In the case of the Oceanogràfic, please ask at the information desk.

 

At the Museum and the Oceanogràfic there is not a gluten-free menu, but it can be prepared if a customer requested. This menu is generally made up of fresh or grilled vegetables and grilled meat or fish without sauce.
