II EDITION OF THE ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST: ASTROCIUTAT

The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències announces the second edition of the international astrophotography contest ASTROCIUTAT: The Universe in Images.

The participation period will run from Monday, June 2 at 3:00 PM (Madrid time) until Sunday, July 13 at 3:00 PM (Madrid time).

The exhibition opening and awards ceremony will take place on September 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Museu de les Ciències.

Take part with your snapshots of the universe and showcase your talent—amazing prizes await you!

Competition categories:

1. 1. Deep Sky

   2. Moon

   3. Sun

   4. Milky Way

   5. Star Trails

Prizes per category:

• First prize: photographic equipment valued at approximately €1,000

• Second prize: photographic equipment valued at approximately €500

Additionally, winners will enjoy extra rewards such as a guided excursion to the Alto Turia Astronomical Center (CAAT), part of the Valencian Astronomical Association (two spots per person), and free entry to the Museu de les Ciències and the Hemisfèric.

The winning images will be displayed in the exhibition ASTROCIUTAT. The Universe in Pictures , located on the Calle Menor of the Museu de les Ciències, where more than 1.5 million visitors will have the chance to enjoy them.
