QUANTUM HARMONY: The Music of the Expanding Universe
The Symphony of the Universe in a Unique Experience
For the fifth consecutive year, the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, in collaboration with the Institute of Corpuscular Physics of Valencia (IFIC) and the Valencia Conservatory of Music, presents Quantum Harmony 2025, an event that merges scientific research with musical creativity.
Date: April 9
⏰Time: 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Santiago Grisolía Auditorium, Museu de les Ciències
🎟 Free entry until full capacity is reached
How does the expansion of the universe sound? What about wave-particle duality? Quantum Harmony creates a bridge between quantum physics and musical composition, transforming scientific concepts into unique sound pieces.
Scientists from IFIC have shared their knowledge of modern cosmology with composition students from the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Music. From this exchange, four original pieces have emerged, inspired by the great questions of the cosmos and quantum mechanics.
The event begins with an introductory talk by Dr. Alberto Aparici, who will guide us through the key aspects of the universe’s expansion. Then, we will listen to the compositions, each introduced by its composer, who will share the creative process behind their work.
