ON WHEELS

An exhibition that explains the history and development of the bicycle through display boards and reproductions of the different types of this means of transport.

The bicycle is a masterpiece of logic and simplicity, but this perfection has only been achieved over a long and slow evolution. Even in ancient times, devices were imagined that would allow us to travel without having to walk.

The designers of this vehicle had to sharpen their wits and provide it with accessories such as pedals, saddle, handlebars, brakes, etc. Nowadays this one of the most common means of transport in many parts of the world, as well as constituting a fully-fledged sport which a huge number of people are involved in, both amateurs and professionals.

The unicycle or the velocipede are just some of the models that we can see among the 21 examples making up the exhibition, located in the Calle Menor of the Museu de les Ciències.
