A journey through our history

We invite you to discover ‘Nos gusta ConciencYarte’, a special free exhibition that explores some of the most remarkable moments in our journey. Located on Calle Menor in the Museu (ground floor), this open-access area allows you to explore, through interactive modules and display cases, the essence of what awaits you in our upper galleries.

Since its opening, the Museu de les Ciències has established itself as a benchmark in science communication. Our aim is to bring knowledge closer to all audiences through entertainment, experimentation, interactivity and new technologies. With hundreds of exhibitions and thousands of activities, we have welcomed millions of visitors, helping to position Valencia as a leading international scientific destination.

Area 1: Welcome to Science

This space welcomes you with surprising facts about the history of the Museu, its architecture and the cultural impact it has generated over the years.

• Touch if you can: Have fun with our iconic “spring hologram” module.
• Historical display cases: A visual journey through key milestones, visitor figures and iconic exhibitions.
• Espai dels Xiquets: Explore a fossilised tree trunk with time rings, discover the tactile theatre or visit our cockroach terrarium.
• Zero gravity: Experiment with physics and watch how spheres rotate around planets.
• Mars and Science on Stage: Observe the Red Planet with the Mars Viewer, meet the robotic dogs Aibo and be amazed by the “High Voltage” show at the Science Theatre.

Area 2: Dance. The art of movement

This area is centred around a large display case offering a preview of the new exhibition that will be located on the first floor of the Museu.

Here, you will discover dance as a universal, spontaneous and creative form of expression—an invitation to explore the body, emotions and relationships with others through the language of movement.

Area 3: The history of life

A large display case, accompanied by a touchscreen, invites you to reflect on the origin and evolution of life on our planet.

The fascinating story of life brings us closer to the evolution of species and biological change through fossil traces, remains from the cosmos and ancient ecosystems. Thanks to scientific knowledge, we now better understand the complexity of organisms and the secrets preserved over time.

This space includes elements from outstanding exhibitions such as:

• Terra Extraordinaria

• Bosque de Cromosomas (including the replica of an allosaurus skeleton)
