CONFERENCE FINISHED
ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION: PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN VALENCIA
Enjoy an Astronomical Event on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Paseo de Cipreses.
From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, you will have the chance to witness a partial solar eclipse, a phenomenon in which the Moon will partially cover the Sun’s disk.
Experience the magic of the eclipse with specialized telescopes at the Museu de les Ciències. To ensure a safe experience, we will provide telescopes equipped with visible light and H-alpha filters, allowing observation of sunspots and solar flares. Additionally, the image of the Sun will be projected onto a white screen to make viewing easier for all attendees.
Experts from Nébula and the Valencian Astronomy Association will be on hand to guide the observation and answer all your questions.
Eclipse Details in Valencia
- Start of the partial eclipse: 10:54:43 AM
- Maximum eclipse: 11:42:04 AM (24.9% of the Sun covered)
- End of the partial eclipse: 12:30:57 PM
- Sun’s altitude at maximum: 49°
- Sun’s azimuth at maximum: 147°
Observe the Eclipse Safely
To protect your eyesight during the observation, please follow these recommendations:
- Wear certified solar eclipse glasses.
- Use telescopes or binoculars with approved solar filters.
- Observe via projection onto a white screen.
Solar eclipses have fascinated humanity throughout history. Today, beyond being awe-inspiring spectacles, they also allow scientists to study the solar corona and the interactions between the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
Free Entry Until Full Capacity Is Reached
The observation is free and open to all audiences. However, it is subject to weather conditions.
Interactive Experience
There will also be an interactive exhibit table where you can learn about the nature of light and the solar system. Try out instruments such as:
- Glass prism
- Spectroscope
- Newton’s disc
- Photoelectric cells
- Tellurion
- Scale models of the solar system
IMPORTANT
The observation will be carried out using telescopes equipped with special filters to guarantee a safe experience. Never look directly at the Sun without proper protection.
We look forward to seeing you to enjoy the Sun and expand your scientific knowledge!
