IA IN THE CASSROOM: REVOLUTIONISING THE WAY WE LEARN

On 7 October 2026, the conference AI in the Classroom: Revolutionising the Way We Learn will take place. This outreach-oriented session will be delivered by Jordi Linares, PhD in Computer Science, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Systems and Computation at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Alcoi Campus), and head of the VertexLit research group at the VRAIN Institute.

Dr Linares has an extensive research background focused on interaction, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence. He is also Content Coordinator at ValgrAI, member of the Joint Research Unit of the Valencian public universities, and actively involved in organisations such as IEEE, Eurographics, SPAIN-AI and OdiseIA (Observatory on the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence).

Transformation and Ethics in the Educational Ecosystem

Imagine a world in which every student, regardless of language, geographic location, socioeconomic background, or learning pace, has access to a personalized tutor capable of adapting to their needs and enhancing their creativity. Artificial intelligence can provide a level of individualized support that no teacher with a classroom of 30 students can realistically offer: identifying learning difficulties before they lead to academic failure and freeing up time for educators to focus on what is truly human and irreplaceable— inspiration, critical thinking, empathy, and the social construction of knowledge. The question is no longer whether AI will transform education, but how we choose to make it happen.

Personalisation, Equity and the Role of the Teacher

The session will also address the potential of AI to democratise access to exceptionally high-quality education. It will explain how personalised support can respond to each student’s needs, regardless of language, location or learning pace. In addition, it will examine how automating monitoring tasks enables teachers to focus on irreplaceable dimensions such as critical thinking, empathy and the social construction of knowledge.
